Normal Repairs for Our Corsets
Corsets are built to be strong, but wear and tear can still happen. The good news is that many common issues are easy to fix yourself with a bit of patience.
1. Loose or broken seams
If a seam starts coming apart:
- Use a strong thread (preferably upholstery or polyester thread)
- Hand-stitch along the original seam line
- A backstitch works best for strength
Tip: Don’t just stitch the visible gap—reinforce a little beyond it.
2. Popped eyelets
If a eyelet comes loose:
- Remove the damaged one completely
- Replace it with a new grommet using a setting tool
- If you don’t have tools, you can temporarily sew around the hole to prevent further fraying
3. Fraying fabric or edges
To stop fraying:
- Apply a small amount of fabric glue or fray-check
- Or fold the edge inward and stitch it down neatly
4. Ends of the laces
- The metal ending of the lace can come of, you can simply make a knot at the tip of the lace or carefully melt the ned of the lace with a lighter. Be carful if using the lighter.

Needle and Thread
You don’t need special tools or advanced skills to repair many everyday items. A simple needle and thread can go a long way.
Small tears, loose seams, or worn edges on things like clothing, bags, or even home textiles can often be fixed in just a few minutes. By stitching along the damaged area, you can stop the problem from getting worse and extend the life of the item.
You don’t have to sew perfectly, simple stitches like a straight stitch or backstitch are strong enough for most basic repairs.
Learning these small fixes not only saves money, but also reduces waste and helps you take better care of what you already own. Instead of throwing something away at the first sign of damage, you can repair it and keep using it.
Replace Broken Parts
A broken part doesn’t mean the whole product is unusable. In many cases, you can simply replace the damaged component and keep using it for years to come.
